Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach Georgetown University comprises two unique campuses in the nation's capital. Job Overview Design, implement, evaluate, and report on all facets of the Sports Performance program, improving the overall athletic performance of GEorgetown University Student‑Athletes. Collaborate with the Sports Medicine, Physical Therapy staff, and Athletic Administration to prevent injury and enhance performance. Duties Implement Sports Performance programs to enhance Student‑Athlete performance while focusing on injury prevention. Monitor and evaluate progress, adjusting strategies and goals. Instruct and coach proper technique in strength, speed, conditioning, agility, plyometrics, mobility, flexibility, and safety measures. Communicate effectively with Student‑Athletes, Coaches, and Sports Administration to ensure health and safety. Collaborate with the Athletic Training Staff and Medical Team on health and safety matters. Administer, evaluate, analyze, report, and educate on appropriate physical testing of Student‑Athletes. Administer, evaluate, analyze, report, and educate on Sports Science data collection. Attend all Sports Performance and Athletic Department staff meetings. Adhere to Georgetown University, Athletic Department, and Sports Performance policies, procedures, and NCAA compliance. Follow NSCS and CSCCa policies and procedures. Assist in daily operations and supervision of the Thompson Athletic Center weight room. Develop, supervise, and evaluate Volunteer, Internship, and College‑Level Internship programs. Conduct educational sessions and workshops on Sports Performance, injury prevention, and overall well‑being. Perform other duties assigned by senior Athletics leaders. Stay informed on the latest advancements in Sports Performance and related fields. Work Interactions The Sports Performance Coach reports directly to the Associate Athletic Director of Sports Performance, who reports to the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Internal Operations. Requirements And Qualifications Bachelor’s degree – Master’s degree preferred. 2 years of strength and conditioning experience, preferably at NCAA Division I level. Current certification in one or both NCAA‑preferred certifications (NSCA‑CSCS, CSCCa‑SCCC). Current First Aid, CPR/AED certification. Additional relevant certifications (e.g., NASM, USAW, NSCA‑TSAC, ISSA, NCSF). Experience coaching proper technique in weight lifting, speed, agility, plyometrics, mobility drills, and knowledge of safety protocols. Knowledge of Exercise Science, anatomy, kinesiology, biomechanics, nutrition, and psychology. Knowledge of strength, speed, conditioning, agility, plyometrics, mobility, flexibility, and safety measures. Strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills. Strong ability to demonstrate effective communication with student‑athletes, coaches, athletic trainers, and athletic administration. Strong organizational skills. Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with Sports Science and data collection methods for strength, speed, conditioning, agility, and mobility. Knowledge of NCAA Rules and Regulations. Familiarity with Vald Force Plate, Teambuildr, and Tendo units. Work Mode Designation This position is designated as On‑Campus .
