Job Title: Commercial Litigation Paralegal
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid – Onsite 3 days/week)
About the Role:
Our firm is seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic litigation team in Chicago. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in complex commercial litigation and be highly skilled in e-filing with both state and federal courts. Experience in bankruptcy and foreclosure matters is a plus.
This position offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys on all phases of litigation—from case inception through trial and appeal—while maintaining a healthy hybrid schedule (three days onsite per week).
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of case preparation, discovery, and trial support for commercial litigation matters.
Handle e-filing in state and federal courts, ensuring compliance with all procedural rules and deadlines.
Organize, maintain, and track case files, discovery documents, and correspondence.
Prepare and finalize pleadings, discovery requests/responses, subpoenas, exhibits, and other legal documents.
Conduct legal and factual research as needed.
Assist with deposition and trial preparation, including witness binders, exhibit lists, and trial notebooks.
Coordinate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and vendors.
Support attorneys in bankruptcy and foreclosure-related litigation, as applicable.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited program required.
Minimum of 5 years of commercial litigation experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
E-filing expertise in both Illinois state and federal courts is required.
Familiarity with bankruptcy and foreclosure procedures preferred.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, litigation support software (e.g., Relativity, CaseMap, Concordance), and document management systems.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
Work Schedule:
Hybrid – Onsite 3 days per week in our Chicago office; remote work available the remaining days.
